LDV is a sub-brand of the SAIC Motor group, based in Shanghai. Like Great Wall before it, LDV chose Australia as a test market ahead of its planned global expansion.
The LDV T60 looks the part, and undercuts all of its competitors – even the bargain Mitsubishi Triton – on price, while it sports a large touchscreen and all the mod cons. It lacks the latest active safety technology, but it does have a five-star ANCAP crash rating.
The LDV T60 drives okay, although its turbo-diesel engines lack the oomph of its better-known competitors and its cabin trims and quality feel below par. Shop on price.
