Australian LDV importer Ateco Automotive is recalling the diesel-powered LDV Deliver 9 and battery-electric LDV eDeliver 9 commercial vans as their airbags could deploy unexpectedly.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) software may have been calibrated with higher than intended sensitivity,” Ateco says in its recall notice.
“As a result, the driver, passenger, curtain airbags and/or seat mounted side airbags may activate unexpectedly whilst driving.
“An unexpected activation of the airbag whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
