BYD’s premium brand Denza has discounted 2025-built examples of its B5 by more than $7000 as it looks to clear existing stock of the large plug-in hybrid off-road SUV.
The five-seat Denza B5 was launched in Australia in December 2025 alongside the larger Denza B8, which offers six- and seven-seat configurations.
The discount sees model year 2025 (MY25) B5s priced at $74,990 drive-away, with Denza effectively paying the on-road costs. This represents a saving of more than $7000 compared with the previous drive-away price of $82,138 for customers with a Sydney 2000 postcode.
The higher-spec B5 Leopard is priced at $79,990 drive-away for selected 2025-build vehicles, compared with $87,388 drive-away for vehicles produced in 2026.

Denza's terms and conditions confirm the offers only apply to ‘new’ 2025-build vehicles in ‘selected’ exterior and interior colours, with higher prices for vehicles fitted with options.
The B5 is pitched as a rival to the Toyota Prado and Land Rover Defender, and comes in two model grades: the entry-level B5 and the better-equipped B5 Leopard.
Both variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and a pair of electric motors, one for each axle, with combined outputs of 400kW of power and 760Nm of torque.
The electric part of the drivetrain is powered by a 31.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for a claimed zero-emissions driving range of 90km on the WLTC cycle.

Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels with Continental tyres, keyless entry, leather seat upholstery, a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a 16-speaker audio system.
The B5 Leopard rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli tyres and a DiSus-P electronically controlled adaptive hydraulic suspension system, and adds Nappa leather upholstery and a digital rear-view mirror, among other extra standard equipment.
The B5 and B8 spearheaded the upmarket Chinese auto brand’s arrival in Australia as an alternative to brands including Lexus and Land Rover, followed by the Denza D9 electric people mover.
A total of 1872 Denza B5s were sold between January and September 2026 – more than the B8, which recorded 1325 sales. The D9, which arrived in March, tallied 142 sales to the end of September.
The Denza Z9 GT electric grand tourer, previously scheduled to arrive here by the end of this year, is now due on sale in Australia in the first half of 2027.
