    The new Land Rover Defender is a Suv Large Luxury offered in 3D SUV, Single SUV and 5D SUV body styles. Available in Australia from $98,400 (MLRP, excl. on-roads) for the S variant and topping out at $313,800 for the Octa Black.

    There are 9 variants of the Defender available in Australia and this generation went on sale in June of 2025.

    Engine options include 3.0L turbo (183kW/570Nm), 5.0L supercharger (313kW/550Nm), electric motor (221kW/640Nm), 3.0L turbo (257kW/700Nm) and 4.4L turbo (467kW/750Nm). All variants feature 8-speed automatic transmission. All variants feature four-wheel drive.

    The new 2026 Defender is offered with a 5 year, unlimited km warranty.

    • Menacing looks that are hard to miss
    • Excellent on-road and off-road performance
    • A true G-Wagen competitor without the social connotations

    Cons

    • Doesn't look as expensive as its Mercedes-Benz rival
    • Interior not differentiated enough from standard Defenders
    • Barely any exhaust note from the BMW engine
