The Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome, a more discreet version of the brand's hot petrol-powered small sedan, is arriving in local showrooms in November with a price $5000 higher than the model on which it's based.
The special edition will be limited to just 200 examples locally, with a price tag of $60,500 before on-road costs – $5000 more than the i30 Sedan N Premium with sunroof.
As with the grade it's based on, you can choose between a six-speed manual or eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission at the same price.
Australia is one of just a few markets that'll receive the special-edition sports sedan, along with Korea and Canada.

The Monochrome will be offered in just two exterior colours: no-cost Performance Blue, the N division's signature colour, plus Abyss Black Pearl which costs an additional $595.
Both colours are teamed with newly designed 19-inch forged alloy wheels finished in black, while the usual red brake calipers are also finished in black.
The darker theme extends to elements of the front bumper, side sills and rear diffuser, with unpainted carbon-fibre mirror caps and a rear spoiler completing the treatment.
The cabin features an exclusive Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel with all buttons finished in black, with this trim also found on the gear shifter.

There are no changes to the 206kW/392Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which sends power to the front wheels.
Hyundai Australia has confirmed the 200 Monochromes will include a mix of six-speed manual and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic versions, with around 170 equipped with the latter.
The allocation broadly reflects the standard i30 Sedan N’s sales mix, with around 90 per cent of buyers choosing the DCT.
The Monochrome is effectively a run-out model variant for the i30 Sedan N, which arrived in Australian showrooms in 2021, and follows the template set by the i20 N Shadow Edition, which marked the end of the smaller hot hatch when it was announced in June 2026.

A new-generation i30 Sedan has been revealed, albeit not yet in N guise, ahead of its local launch during the first half of 2027. The older i30 Hatch N, in contrast, is nearing the end of its run with no replacement in sight. Stock is expected to last into 2027.
The i30 Sedan N has accounted for almost a quarter of N model sales in Australia since the high-performance division’s local debut in 2018, contributing 5420 of its 22,474 sales to the end of September 2026.
The sedan is second only to the i30 Hatch N, the first N model offered here, which has accounted for more than half of the division’s local sales.
Overall, N models – which also include the i20 N hatch, and electric Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 – have accounted for four per cent of Hyundai Australia’s sales year-to-date.
