Cupra has detailed pricing for its entire range of sporty hatchbacks and SUVs, ahead of orders opening in early June and vehicles arriving in July.

All models feature fixed pricing, and come with a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty and three years of free servicing.

Cupra has also published drive-away pricing for much of the range.

The range opens at $43,990 before on-road costs for the base Leon V hatchback, which will arrive later than the others – orders will open in the third quarter of 2022 ahead of arrivals in 2023.

The sleek Formentor starts at $50,690 before on-roads ($54,990 drive-away) in base V guise, while the single Ateca VZx variant is priced at $60,990 before on-roads ($65,990 drive-away).

Both the Leon and the Formentor feature wide model ranges, and both offer the option of a plug-in hybrid powertrain – a unique selling point for a Volkswagen Group brand at this end of the market.

Cupra expects the Formentor crossover to be its best seller locally.

The aforementioned Formentor V packs a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 140kW of power and 320Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive.

    The Formentor VZ ($53,790 before on-roads, $58,490 drive-away) upgrades to a 180kW/370Nm 2.0-litre turbo, though it’s front-wheel drive-only.

The Forementor VZe packs a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 1.4-litre turbo four, an electric motor, and a six-speed wet-clutch DSG. Total system outputs are 180kW and 400Nm.

It’s priced at $60,990 before on-roads, though drive-away pricing varies between $63,990 (ACT) and $66,990 (Western Australia) as it’s impacted by the different subsidies (or the lack there of) for plug-in hybrid vehicles from state to state.

Finally, the Formentor VZx is priced at $61,490 before on-roads ($66,490 drive-away) and packs a 228kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo.

The older Ateca overlaps with its sleeker Formentor sibling, offering a 221kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo, all-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG.

    It’s priced at $60,990 before on-roads, or $65,990 drive-away.

The Leon, like the Formentor, offers a choice of four variants, each with a different powertrain.

The range opens with the Leon V, priced at $43,990 before on-roads and packing a 2.0-litre 140kW/320Nm turbo four mated with a seven-speed wet-clutch DSG.

The Leon VZ upgrades to a 180kW/370Nm 2.0-litre turbo, and is priced at $52,590 before on-roads ($56,990 drive-away).

The plug-in hybrid Leon VZe features the same powertrain as its Formentor VZe sibling, and is priced at $59,990 before on-roads.

Like the electrified Formentor, drive-away pricing for the Leon VZe varies from state to state. It’s cheapest in our nation’s capital ($62,990) and priciest in WA ($65,990).

Atop the Leon range is the VZx, priced at $60,990 before on-roads ($64,990 drive-away) and packing a 221kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo. Think of it as a front-wheel drive alternative to the Volkswagen Golf R.

Cupra will rely on online sales backed by a network of what the Spanish brand is calling Cupra City Garages, staffed by Cupra Masters who’ll look after customers through their purchase.
