    About the LDV T60

K W purchased this LDV T60 new with additional options for $41,000 (including all on-road costs). K W would buy this car again because: “I purchased the T60 new from the Townsville LDV dealer. I would purchase the vehicle again. We required a utility for our small family business. The LDV will be required to do approximately 15,000km a year. When we started looking for a suitable utility we first considered Toyota but found the pricing higher than our budget. Whilst I have no doubt after 400,000km, the Toyota would have proved to be more reliable and durable with our limited use, we did not feel we would get the benefit of the extra price paid.”

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.

After 9000km the vehicle has proved to be completely reliable. We have had no issues and everything works as intended. The vehicle appears to be put together well and feels to be of a durable construction.

We are seeing more and more on the road which gives us confidence that we have made the right choice.

What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?

The ownership experience has been going well. The vehicle drives nicely.

When purchasing a car from a regional centre where there is only one dealer, once you have decided on your brand of car there is only one place to go. Fortunately the dealer in Townsville has been very good.

How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?

The purchase experience was very straightforward. We asked for a couple of optional extras to be fitted and also I asked for the grill to be painted black as I felt that it better suited the car.

All accessories and the painting were promptly done and nothing seemed too much trouble to the dealer.

Are you happy with the price and features of your car?

We did quite a bit of research before deciding on the LDV and certainly the reason we picked it was the features at this price point.

We did consider the next model up in the range, but there was nothing that we felt we missed out on by opting for the one we purchased and by painting the grill we solved what was to us the only aesthetic issue with the base model.

What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?

This is our first diesel vehicle and the performance is acceptable for its intended use. It has never been heavily loaded. The 2.0-litre engine puts out 160kW which we were told was one of the higher outputs for a four-cylinder diesel utility engine.

We are using about 10L/100km I which is mostly in the city use and the odd weekend trip.

What do you think of the technology in your car?

All the technology works well. As this is our first vehicle with a touchscreen it takes a bit of getting used to after having a car with physical buttons but after getting used to it, it seems to work well.

The Apple CarPlay is a great feature.

What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?

After a conventional car, we did have some concerns over how hard the ride would be for a vehicle that is obviously designed to carry a heavier load.

As we said previously, the vehicle will never be loaded to carry close to the full payload. At this stage, we have been pleasantly surprised about how comfortable it is to drive.

We also do some very light duty four wheel driving and I am happy that it has handled everything we have thrown at it so far with not too much trouble.
