The Ford Everest V6 could be the next police car you see in your rear-view mirrors.
Victoria Police has added Everest Sport models to its fleet, with the V6-powered SUVs being used by both the State Highway Patrol and Drug and Alcohol units.
A spokesperson for Victoria Police told CarExpert a total of seven Everests are now in use, with two of those replacing Toyota LandCruisers for towing and off-road duties.
"State Highway Patrol have added two Ford Everest Sport 4x4 V6 vehicles to its fleet, which will be used predominantly by our Solo Unit in an off-road capacity and for towing motorcycle trailers, or when conditions are not suitable for police to patrol on motorcycles."

"Road Policing Drug and Alcohol Section have added five Ford Everest Sport V6 vehicles to its fleet," the spokesperson explained, with those vehicles wearing matching liveries as its 'booze buses' – predominantly supporting roadside alcohol and drug testing stations.
The Everest Sport is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine producing 184kW and 600Nm, with the seven-seater SUV weighing 2455kg and having the ability to tow up to 3500kg.
The addition of the Everest comes after Victoria Police began using the previous-generation Ford Ranger ute – the model on which the Everest is based – as a divisional van back in 2021, replacing the Holden Colorado.
