Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro prices: More rugged large SUV detailed ahead of launch

The Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro has been detailed ahead of the more rugged large SUV’s local release next month, when it will launch the Korean brand’s XRT Pro off-road sub-brand in Australia.

Available in a single variant priced at $79,900 before on-road costs – $3500 more than the new entry-level Elite grade, but almost $10,000 less than the top-shelf Calligraphy – the XRT Pro will also be the first non-hybrid version of the second-generation Palisade.

While that makes it less powerful, the eight-seat XRT will offer a higher towing capacity and more off-road capability, thanks to a one-inch suspension lift and Hyundai Australia's first local chassis tune since the i30 Sedan in 2024.

The bespoke Australian suspension tune is accompanied by 255/60 R18 Continental all-terrain tyres and an electronic limited-slip rear differential (e-LSD).

The XRT Pro, which Hyundai says bridges the gap between "a traditional 4WD and an all-wheel drive SUV" while retaining the Palisade’s comfort and on-road refinement, was first revealed alongside the second-generation large SUV itself at the 2025 New York motor show.

The new Palisade was launched in Australia in November 2025, exclusively in high-grade Calligraphy trim, before the base Elite grade was added in February 2026.

Like all second-generation Palisade variants available in Australia so far, the XRT Pro comes standard with active on-demand all-wheel drive. But unlike the US version, which is available exclusively with a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, Australia’s version will employ a non-electrified turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

Outputs are listed at 207kW of power and 422Nm of torque (the latter over 1700-4000rpm) – down from the electrified version of the T-GDi Theta III engine that powers the rest of the Palisade range, which produces combined outputs of 245kW and 460Nm (over 1800-4500rpm).

But while the hybrid Palisade range comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission, the XRT Pro has an eight-speed auto.

Equipped with a factory-fitted towbar and wiring connection – but not a Hyundai Genuine towing accessory kit as standard – the off-road-oriented Palisade also increases its braked towing capacity by 200kg to 2200kg, and its towball downweight to 160kg (unbraked towing capacity remains 750kg).

The XRT Pro also ups its ground clearance by 25mm (to 212mm), its approach angle by 1.9 degrees (to 20.5), its departure angle by 1.3 degrees (to 22.4), and its rampover angle by 2.8 degrees – to 18.3.

All Palisades come with a full-size spare wheel, but the XRT Pro rides on exclusive black and machined-finish 18-inch alloy wheels (as opposed to the Elite’s 20-inch and the Calligraphy’s 21-inch wheels), and features black synthetic leather seat trim – not leather as in the Elite or Nappa leather as in Calligraphy.

It also adds exposed red front and rear recovery hooks, a Terrain Mode system comprising Mud, Sand and Snow settings, Downhill Brake Control, a ground-view monitor, and dedicated off-road displays showing real-time pitch and roll, compass and elevation.

Created with “lifestyle adventure” in mind, the XRT Pro also features a range of exterior and interior design additions to give it a more rugged character, including a unique metallic grille treatment, blacked-out exterior details, and XRT Pro branding on the seats and head restraints.

All Palisades come with a 14-speaker Bose sound system and Digital Key 2.0, and as in the Elite there’s a heated steering wheel, though the XRT Pro adds a sliding sunroof.

The XRT Pro introduces an exclusive new exterior paint colour dubbed Titan Charcoal, and will also be available in Shimmering Silver, Ecotronic Grey, Classy Blue, Creamy White, Abyss Black and Cast Iron Brown.
