Honda Super-One: Australian pricing leaked for baby EV

The Honda Super-One electric city hatch will be priced from $38,900 drive-away, according to an online post claiming to have accessed the Honda Australia configurator in preview mode.

Reddit user Capt_SloMo posted screenshots of the Honda Australia website configurator, which included the Super-One, a city-sized electric hatch set to rival the Hyundai Inster and BYD Atto 1. Honda Australia is yet to announce local pricing or equipment.

Due in Australian showrooms in the second half of 2026, the screenshots show the Super-One in a single model grade priced from $38,900 drive-away.

In standard Mono Tone paint, the configurator listed features including Magic Seats, adaptive cruise control, a Boost mode and a Bose sound system.

According to the screenshots, the Super-One will be available in Mono Grey, Crystal Black and Boost Violet exterior finishes.

A Two Tone option was also shown, available exclusively with Boost Violet for an additional $500, taking the drive-away price to $39,400.

If accurate, this would make the Honda significantly more expensive than the BYD Atto 1, currently Australia's cheapest electric vehicle (EV), which is priced from $23,990 and $27,990 before on-road costs depending on the grade.

However, it would undercut the Hyundai Inster, which starts at $39,000 before on-road costs.

Honda Australia declined to comment on the pricing or confirm whether the screenshots were taken from its website configurator.

A link shared on Reddit to the Super-One configurator now requires a password.

Whether the leaked pricing is accurate remains unclear. However, pricing shown for other Honda models in the screenshots matches current Australian list prices, although that may simply reflect a test version of the site.

It's also possible Honda was using placeholder pricing while testing the configurator ahead of its official launch.

In Japan, where Super-One sales began in May 2026, the electric hatch is priced from ¥3,390,200. Based on a direct currency conversion, that equates to around A$29,600.

For comparison, the Honda Prelude was launched earlier this year, priced from ¥6,179,800 (about $53,997) in Japan and $65,000 drive-away in Australia.

Similarly, the Honda CR-V hybrid starts from ¥5,122,700 (about $44,761) in Japan and $49,900 drive-away in Australia.

That suggests the Super-One could plausibly be priced somewhere between about $35,000 and the leaked $38,900 drive-away figure when it arrives in Australian showrooms.

The Super-One will be Honda's first EV in Australia and arrives as electric vehicles continue to gain momentum, accounting for almost one in four new-vehicle sales in June 2026.

Honda Australia has yet to announce additional EVs beyond the Super-One, though it has previously said it's evaluating the 0 Series Alpha, a small electric SUV set to be launched in India (where it will be built) by early 2027 and positioned as a rival to the Suzuki e Vitara.
