The new-generation BMW iX3 electric SUV has received its first reported price rise only four months after arriving in Australia, following confirmation the iX4 will join the local lineup in the first three months of 2027.
The iX3 50 xDrive M Sport is now listed at $112,500 before on-road costs, up $2600 from its $109,900 list price announced in March 2026, ahead of customer deliveries beginning in late June.
The increase doesn't come with any change to the iX3 50 xDrive’s standard equipment.
The new price means it's now more expensive than the Mercedes-Benz GLC400 electric SUV, albeit by only $300 over the GLC’s $112,200 before on-road costs asking price.

It also widens the price gap above the Audi Q6 e-tron Sport at $105,400 before on-roads and the Volvo EX60 P10, currently listed at $101,990 before on-road costs.
“BMW regularly reviews its pricing in response to market conditions and the positioning of its entire model portfolio. The recent price adjustment for the BMW iX3 50 xDrive is a commercial decision and is not associated with any equipment or specification changes,” a BMW Australia spokesperson told CarExpert.
The 50 xDrive was the first model grade of the new-generation iX3 to land here, sitting above the entry-level rear-wheel-drive iX3 40, which remains priced at $89,900 before on-road costs.
BMW has also unveiled an iX3 M60 xDrive, which is expected to join the Australian range in 2027, although local timing and pricing have yet to be confirmed. The related iX4 M60 xDrive has been confirmed for Australia later in 2027.

BMW reports sales of its iX3 and similarly sized (but mechanically unrelated) X3 together. Combined, this is BMW Australia’s best-selling model line, with 4081 sales through to the end of September, up 12.5 per cent over the same period in 2025.
As the first of the ‘Neue Klasse’ generation of vehicles, the iX3 was a milestone launch for BMW, introducing a new vehicle architecture, design and electric powertrains to set the tone for future models from the brand.
It has since unveiled the related BMW i3 electric sedan, as well as the almost identically styled but mechanically unrelated 3 Series, as well as the larger iX5/X5 SUV lineup.
The iX4, which takes the iX3 and essentially adds a swoopier, coupe-like roofline, will arrive in local dealerships in early 2027 in two model grades, both with standard xDrive all-wheel drive.

The iX4 40 xDrive M Sport is priced from $103,900 before on-road costs, while the iX4 50 xDrive M Sport is $119,900 before on-roads.
This sees it start below the cheapest Porsche Macan Electric, priced at $129,700 before on-roads, but above the Polestar 4’s $73,900 starting price.
The iX3 40 has a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive powertrain producing 235kW/500Nm and an 82.6kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, offering a claimed 635km WLTP range.
The iX3 50 xDrive adds a second motor and all-wheel drive, with power and torque increasing to 345kW/645Nm and a claimed range of 805km from its larger 108.7kWh NMC battery.
Both iX4 launch variants are dual-motor versions, with the 275kW/520Nm iX4 40 xDrive offering a claimed 638km WLTP range.

The iX4 50 xDrive has the same 345kW/645Nm outputs and 108.7kWh battery as the iX3 50 xDrive, but its more aerodynamic body extends the claimed WLTP range to 828km.
Standard equipment across the announced Australian iX3 and iX4 launch variants includes an M Sport package with 20-inch alloy wheels and brake calipers painted M Sport Blue.
The cabins also feature a 43.3-inch Panoramic Vision display, a 17.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Veganza leatherette upholstery. The iX4 is also offered with black Veganza and Performtex faux-suede trim.
