2026 Mitsubishi Triton Raider price undercuts rival Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux utes

It's the most expensive Mitsubishi Triton ever, but the new Raider costs less than key competitors as it battles for off-road dual-cab ute supremacy.

The price tag of the new range-topping 2026 Mitsubishi Triton Raider has been announced at $74,990 drive-away, making it the most expensive model in the current-generation ute's lineup – but cheaper than off-road-focused versions of key rivals.

Based on the Triton GSR dual cab, which is $65,590 before on-road costs, the Raider is the brand’s first step into what it describes as the more aspirational lifestyle-buyer market.

Mitsubishi says it'll be available in all of its dealerships nationwide by June 2026.

Among its changes are retuned steering and suspension, plus a specially chosen wheel and all-terrain tyre combination tuned and tested by renowned local engineering firm Premcar.

The $74,990 drive-away ask for the Raider means it undercuts the Ford Ranger Tremor, which is priced at $75,090 before on-road costs – though it packs a turbo-diesel V6 with more power and torque than the Triton's 2.4-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder.

Using Ford Australia’s configurator and based on a private buyer in Sydney, the Tremor starts at $82,404 once on-road costs are added.

Similarly, the Toyota HiLux Rugged X is $78,117 drive-away for the same Sydney private buyer, based on white paint, per the Japanese brand's local configurator.

In addition to a bespoke chassis tune, the Triton Raider is fitted with 18-inch ROH alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone all-terrain tyres, helping widen the front and rear track by 20mm and increase ride height by up to 25mm.

The Raider includes the standard GSR’s Yamaha horizontal damper system to improve noise, vibration and harshness, not to be confused with the custom shock absorbers at each corner tuned to match the Raider-specific springs.

As well as its mechanical upgrades, the Raider brings unique badging inside and out, and comes standard with a dark front garnish, side steps and sports bar with Raider-specific red highlights.

The cabin remains largely unchanged from the GSR, apart from Raider logos in the head restraints of the leather seats and a console-mounted Raider plaque.

The Triton Raider arrives as part of a 2026 model-year update for Triton, which sees a rationalised lineup with the previous entry-level GLX 4x2 manual dropped.

The GLX 4x2 single cab/chassis automatic is the new starting point at $37,090 before on-road costs, $40 less than the cheapest Ford Ranger, the XL Hi-Rider single cab/chassis.

While the Ranger remains the top-selling vehicle in Australia for the first four months of 2026, Triton 4x4 sales were up 10.4 per cent year-on-year, while Ranger 4x4 sales dropped 7.4 per cent.

Last month, Triton was the fifth best-selling ute after Ranger, HiLux, the Isuzu D-Max and BYD Shark 6.
