A mid-life update for the 2024 Renault Captur has been spied testing, wearing heavy camouflage.
Disguise can be seen on its front bumper, grille and bonnet as well as its entire rear end including the rear passenger doors.
The updated Captur appears to borrow some design elements from the new Renault Austral which is currently not offered in Australia.
Under its disguise the prototype looks to receive a slimmer headlight design with new-look daytime running lights as well as a restyled front bumper.
Renault’s new logo design is also expected to feature on the Captur based on the styling of its bigger sibling the Austral.
The bonnet may see come changes based on the camouflage, but looks to have a similarly creased appearance to the current car.
There is a front camera under the grille which indicates this is a higher-spec variant.
Down back, the tail lights appear to be getting a slimmer design. The Captur could get Austral-like light bars that stretch across much of the tailgate, broken up only by the Renault badge.
The tailgate otherwise looks much the same overall.
It’s unclear whether the interior will receive any changes.
OpenR Infotainment

Renault currently offers a choice of 7.0-inch and 9.3-inch touchscreen infotainment systems, as well as instrument cluster set-ups ranging from a small 4.2-inch screen to a full 10.25-inch display.
It’s possible Renault’s latest infotainment system, the Android Automotive-based OpenR, will be included with the Captur facelift.
This system debuted on the Megane E-Tech Electric.
It it unconfirmed what powertrains will be available. In Europe, the Captur is offered with a choice of petrol and diesel powertrains, as well as mild-hybrid, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options.
Australia currently only receives a turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine without any electrification. This produces 113kW of power and 270Nm of torque.
The current-generation Captur debuted in 2019 in Europe before coming to Australia in 2021.
The Captur shares its CMF-B with the Renault Arkana, Nissan Juke and European-market Mitsubishi ASX.
Renault sold 1207 examples of its Captur in Australia last year, outselling the Nissan Juke (1084 sales).
