The BMW 1 Series is the brand's compact hatchback entry point, aimed at drivers who want premium presentation and sharp urban manners without moving into an SUV. The latest 1 Series keeps the practical five-door layout and front-biased platform, with a cabin that now feels more closely aligned with BMW's larger models through its curved display and cleaner digital interface. In Australia, it gives BMW a rival to premium small cars from Audi and Mercedes-Benz, with performance stepping up through warmer variants such as the M135. Its appeal is everyday usability with a more polished badge, interior and driving feel than mainstream hatchbacks. The 1 Series works best as a compact premium car for city use, commuting and weekend driving.
