2025 Volkswagen Passat
The Volkswagen Passat is a mid-sized sedan and wagon line that served Australian families and business buyers for decades. It is no longer on sale as a new model locally, as Volkswagen's passenger-car range has narrowed and SUV demand has grown. The Passat was known for understated styling, generous cabin space, strong turbocharged engines and a more refined feel than many mainstream mid-sized cars. Wagon versions were especially practical, offering SUV-rivalling cargo space with better road manners and efficiency. Its appeal was never flashy; it was a comfortable, mature and capable long-distance car. The Passat remains an important part of Volkswagen's local history, even as buyers have shifted toward Tiguan, Tayron and electric SUVs.
