Dashcam footage has shown the explosive impact of a wayward pickup truck on a petrol station in the US.

Caught on video and published to TikTok by Extrezionx, the dashcam footage was captured at 8:41pm on February 4, 2024.

According to Yahoo News, the crash occurred in La Plata, New Mexico.

The dashcam footage was taken by a nearby witness who was driving into the fuel station.

As the driver heads towards the petrol station, in the distance a pickup is seen approaching and veering into the oncoming lane as it barrels towards the petrol station.

The GMC Sierra can be seen taking out two bowsers and the supporting structure which is holding up the canopy.

The dashcam shows the witness was able to halt the brakes just in time, avoiding the Sierra as well as the collapsing structure.

The incident understandably caused fuel to end up all over the ground, however it doesn’t appear to have caused any fires.

In a follow-up video of the incident, it appears the Sierra subsequently crashed into a tree causing it to stop.

Yahoo News reports the dashcam owner gave a statement to the local sheriff and handed over footage from the dashcam.

“They (local sheriffs) also followed up with me stating the woman that I helped pull out of the truck had actually had a seizure,” Extrezionx said.

The woman reportedly walked away with only minor injuries.
