    About the Hyundai Tucson

T Klein purchased this Hyundai Tucson new with additional options for $56,000 (including all on-road costs). T Klein would buy this car again because: “I’ve owned a 2019 Hyundai Tucson, and we as a family have owned Hyundais. All have been maintained well, and all haven’t had any major issues. I think they are reliable and secure in knowing we have a good product.”

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.

Upon purchase of the car, I was informed there was an issue with the Dual Clutch Transmission, that second gear wouldn’t engage properly. I noticed this when I drove the car on the outset. Lower gears would change, causing the car to jerk off the mark. Hyundai Tamworth informed me that new parts were on order and once they arrived it will be fixed up. This week, the car was fixed, and now the jerkiness of the DCT has abated. The car was serviced for its first time, and it’s now running beautifully.

What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?

Excellent, I’ve got the top of the range Highlander, and all the options within are fantastic. I optioned a tow bar, but not using it yet as per recommendation by Hyundai. All the features are fantastic, and the car drives well over the poor roads in Tamworth.

How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?

Purchase and after care has been excellent. Tamworth Hyundai informed me of the DCT issues immediately, even gave me a loan car whilst my car was being repaired. After sales has been excellent.

Are you happy with the price and features of your car?

Absolutely happy with the price and features. I like the modern car, I like the upper class models with all the equipment. The safety tech is fabulous and I feel reassured the car will keep my family safe and in luxury. Gotta love heated seats on these cold mornings.

What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?

Stuck in lockdown, even in Tamworth has not given my car the chance to drive any long distances. Performance is great, economy is fine, but would be better once we take the car on longer trips.

What do you think of the technology in your car?

Technology is fantastic, with everything in the top spec car, you couldn’t really want any more in this price range. I always look at other car reviews to see what other car makers have, my Highlander has it all and more. Unless I spend more money on a European car for the absolute luxury, this one is perfectly fine.

What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?

Comfort is excellent, even on those 19 inch tyres. Our roads in Tamworth are terrible at times, and the potholes can be the size of a small crater, but this car doesn’t seem to crash into the potholes as much as my last Tucson did. Again handling is hard to say, being in lockdown, long distances have been unable to be made. Handling is excellent for the short runs into town, so I would give it a high rating at this very moment.

Do you have any additional comments about your car?

Love my car right now. I’ve only had it since July 2021, and I am itching to drive it longer distances to give it a better run.
