    About the Ford FALCON

A G purchased this Ford FALCON used for $24,000 (including all on-road costs) in 2020. A G would buy this car again because: “Great looking car with the right amount of power for daily driving also has lots of boot space and interior room for the family. Has some features missing from a brand new car but still has enough features to keep it modern “

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.

After three years of ownership it has been absolutely flawless no issues at all everything has been working like a dream motor and gearbox have been perfect, and everything in the interior technology-wise has been working without any issues

What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?

It’s been a joy to own and drive as you don’t see these FG X falcons on the road as much as other Falcons, lots of people like to comment how nice it is to see a well kept FG X XR6 in good condition which I have enjoyed.

I also love taking it car shows and ford falcon meet ups and shows which also makes owning this XR6 even better.

I love this car and wish to keep it for a very long time as my daily as it’s been great owning it.

Are you happy with the price and features of your car?

I bought it in 2020 for $23,500 drive-away with 110,000km which looking back at it is very cheap it is missing lots of features of a modern brand new car but still has few nice features which keeps it modern.

This XR6 came from factory with the Technology Pack which included full leather, dual-zone climate control, premium sound with factory sub, premium paint, and 19-inch alloys on top of front and reverse sensors and camera, daytime running lights, voice activation with Siri (my favourite feature) it has just enough technology for me.

The only thing I have added to it has been a sunroof and a push button start.

The one only feature I wish it did have was Apple CarPlay but oh well I still love it

What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?

Performance for a car this size that is daily driven to work and back is perfect, has enough acceleration for overtaking and has enough go to also do the weekend shopping and a weekend cruise once in a while which won’t get you in trouble from the boys in blue.

Economy has been surprisingly very good averaging around 11.3-11.5 litres per 100km which is not bad and I’ve also been getting around 580-600km from a full tank of premium 98. The only mod I’ve done is a Herrod cold air intake.

What do you think of the technology in your car?

It is missing lots of technology of a more modern car, but as I’m not interested in fancy gadgets from a new car I’m really happy with the technology features.

The reverse camera is really clear and sensors do really help parking the big old Falcon easier. My favourite feature is the voice activation which makes making phone calls and sending messages really easy.

The only one thing I wish it had was Apple CarPlay.

What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?

Ride comfort as with all Falcons is great it soaks up all the bumps and crappy Melbourne roads with ease, also well known with Falcons is that boaty floating feeling while driving at higher speeds so I’ve installed Pedders springs and shocks – which now makes it stick to the road much better while also lowering the right height to the perfect level.

Do you have any additional comments about your car?

I love this car and when owning a falcon you feel like you’re part of a community or family of millions of other Ford Falcon owners.

Will keep this car for ever every time I drive it it still makes me smile, not as fun as a turbo Falcon or a big supercharged XR8 but it’s just a perfect daily for me. Go Ford.
