Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 944 examples of its 2022-2023 GLC due to a manufacturing fault with the front towing point connection.

“The connection depth of the front towing point may not meet manufacturing specifications. As a result, the front tow point connection could detach from the vehicle during frontal towing,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the front tow point detaches from the vehicle during use, it will increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, bystanders and other road users.”

If you own an affected vehicle, Mercedes-Benz will contact you in writing once parts become available.

You will then need to make an appointment with your local authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact Mercedes-Benz Australia Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 762 718.
