Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 234 examples of its EQA electric SUV due to a production defect with the main wiring harness that may cause the vehicle’s emergency mode to activate.
The recall affects EQA 250 models produced between 2020 and 2021.
“Due to a production defect, the main wiring harness may come into contact with the frame of the electric powertrain and result in damage to the harness,” said the company in its recall notice.
“If this occurs, the vehicle’s emergency mode may become activated resulting in the driver not being able to start or drive the vehicle from a stopped position.”

If you own an affected vehicle you’ll need to contact your preferred Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the work carried out as soon as possible.
If you have further questions you can contact the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 300 896.
