Kia Stinger recalled

Kia Australia is recalling four-cylinder versions of its Stinger as the sedan could lose power while driving.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the High-Pressure Fuel pump may cause over-pressurisation in the fuel system,” the company says in its recall notice.

“This could impair the fuel supply to the engine and result in warning light and a loss of motive power.

“A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

• A total of 580 vehicles are affected from 2017 to 2023

If you own an affected vehicle, Kia Australia says you should contact one of its dealerships immediately to schedule an appointment.

The dealership will carry out a software update and, if required, replace the high-pressure fuel pump, all free of charge.
