A video has emerged of an Alfa Romeo Stelvio driver smashing multiple times into a fence after a police pursuit in Roselands, Sydney.

According to Facebook account Brown Cardigan, the driver had been involved in a separate accident in Roselands earlier and was escaping from the police.

He had reportedly been cornered by the police so was trying to evade them by driving along the footpath.

The video starts with the driver attempting to free himself from between a footpath and a row of parked cars.

It’s uncertain how the driver lost control but he smashed into a black fence as he tried to speed away.

The driver is then seen putting the vehicle in reserve and trying for a second time to escape. He puts his foot on the pedal but loses control and ends up in the fence again.

A man is seen running towards the wedged car with a long pole of some sort.

The Stelvio sustained a large amount of damage to its front end, as well as large dents and scratches along the sides of the vehicle.

Another video was posted online of the driver showing the events after he collided twice into the black fence. In this video, the driver is seen trying to flee between two parked cars but the Stelvio couldn’t make it through.

After putting the vehicle in reverse again, you can see the front wheels are clearly severely damaged.

The second video shows the man removed from the vehicle after he collided with a different fence further down the road.

It’s unclear if the driver was the owner of the red SUV.
