Ford Australia has quietly increased its incentives for the Ford Ranger ute and Everest large SUV, adding an extra $1000 saving for buyers of run-out MY26 vehicles – while offering upgraded MY26.5 vehicles with a $4000 fuel card even before they arrive in showrooms.
The Ranger and Everest are Ford Australia’s most critical models, accounting for almost 90 per cent of its total sales in 2025 – and 22,922 of its 25,920 sales (88.4 per cent) so far this year.
The automaker did not issue a press release or statement on the expanded discounts, despite having done so when it initially announced a $4000 fuel card offer on April 1 – just as motorists were being hit hard with record fuel prices.
Diesel prices increased the most, exceeding $3.50/L in some parts of Australia, affecting the Ranger especially, with all variants being diesel-powered apart from the flagship Raptor and (plug-in) Hybrid versions.

The Ford Everest is sold only with diesel engines and, like the Ranger, has a fuel capacity of 80 litres – meaning an outlay of $200.96 for a full tank of fuel at the national average of 251.2c/L for the week ending May 10, 2026, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum.
“It is no secret that the entire automotive industry is navigating a complex economic environment with rising cost-of-living pressures,” a Ford Australia spokesperson told CarExpert about the initial offer.
“While foot traffic fluctuates with market conditions, our focus is on remaining proactive.
“These offers are designed to give customers who are currently on the fence the confidence to move forward with a purchase, knowing they are getting a best-in-market vehicle with an added buffer against operating costs.”

The initial $4000 fuel card offer – also available to customers as a cash discount instead – was applied to the MY26 Ranger XLT, including cab/chassis and pickup versions, as well as Sport and Wildtrak variants with either a 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo four-cylinder or 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine.
The entry-level MY26 Everest Trend was also part of the promotion.
In April 2026, Ford sold 3661 Rangers – compared to 4031 in April 2025 – which saw it lose the number one sales spot to the Toyota RAV4, which found 3791 new homes last month.
Everest sales were also down, with 1585 sold compared to 2234 in April 2025.
Following these results, Ford increased the offer to $5000 and extended it to the MY26 Everest Ambiente Bi-Turbo, as well as the V6-powered Everest Sport, Tremor and Platinum.

Ford has now started discounting the updated MY26.5 Ranger with a $4000 fuel card, ahead of the official media launch and first customer deliveries later this month.
The deal applies to MY26.5 Ranger XL double-cab pickup and the Ranger Black Edition with the Bi-Turbo engine, and the V6-powered Ranger XLT cab/chassis, XLT double-cab pickup, Black Edition, Wolftrak, and Wildtrak.
The MY26.5 Ranger loses the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo engine, with a single-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel becoming the new entry-level engine, and pricing starting at $45,600 before on-road costs.
The fuel card offer is not available for Ranger Hybrid models, which are already marked down significantly, with more than $10,000 being discounted off the cheapest MY26 Ranger Hybrid XLT, which is currently priced at $62,000 drive-away.
Ford Australia is yet to officially announce any MY26.5 updates for the Ranger Hybrid lineup.

“Our promotional calendar is planned well in advance, however, we pride ourselves on being agile,” a spokesperson told CarExpert.
“While we always intended to support sales with retail offers in Q2 [April-June], we specifically tailored the $4000 fuel card incentive to directly address the primary concern we are hearing from Australians today: the rising cost of energy.
“It’s about ensuring our offers remain relevant to the real-world challenges our customers face.”
