Ford has revealed a California Special package for its 2024 Ford Mustang GT – but it’s not available for Australia.

Ford Australia told CarExpert there are currently no plans to bring the California Special package to Australia.

The model takes cues from the original 1968 California Special, including its distinctive blue highlights.

Customers in the United States who option their Mustang with the package will receive cosmetic changes including unique wheels, blue nostril intake surrounds, and side body graphics.

The sides of the vehicle feature a Rave Blue and gloss black graphic with the letters “GT/CS”. Also on the side are 19-inch wheels with a GT/CS pad-printed logo finished with the blue highlights.

Customers who option the Performance Pack with the California Special get machined face wheels with Rave Blue pockets, a Performance Pack badge, and GT/CS badging on the grille finished in Rave Blue.

A list of Rave Blue accents are throughout the car including on the wheels, badges, interior stitching, and door inserts.

Customers purchasing the special package will receive the 5.0-litre engine badge, front fender and GT badge with black centres outlined in the Rave Blue hue.

A new design element unique to the California Special is its vertical-slat grille which is finished in a gloss black with Rave Blue nostril intakes, while the headlights feature black bezels.

Inside, Ford has wrapped the seats with perforated Navy Pier upholstery and Ebony Black leather. The dual-stripe stitching on the seats, steering wheel and centre console are finished in a Raptor Blue and Metal Grey colour.

Also included in the interior is California Special badging.

The package adds US$1995 (A$3100) to the cost of the Mustang GT Premium and is available in both coupe and convertible body styles with the option of either a six-speed manual gearbox or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

It will debut publicly on November 16 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Orders are open and deliveries are expected in early 2024.
