Ford Everest and Transit Custom recalled

Ford is recalling over 38,000 vehicles across its Everest and Transit Custom lines due to the risk of injury to someone who blocks a closing window with a body part.

“Due to a software issue, if a vehicle occupant places an obstruction such as a body part in the window space when the driver or passenger side windows are closing, the auto reverse function may not operate until significant pressure is applied,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the driver or passenger side window auto reverse function does not operate as intended, it can increase the risk of serious injury to vehicle occupants.”

• A total of 38,423 Everest and Transit Custom vehicles are affected from 2022 to 2024

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Ford dealership to have it rectified, free of charge.
