2023 Lexus RX prices increase by up to $18,000

The new-generation Lexus RX is slated to arrive in local showrooms during the first quarter of 2023 (January-March), with a hybrid-heavy range kicking off just under $90,000 – some $15,000 more than the old model.

From launch there will be three powertrain options – RX350h, RX350 and RX500h – with the RX350h offering 2WD and AWD options while the rest of the range will be AWD only. Notably absent is the RX450h+ plug-in hybrid (PHEV), though it’s understood it’s under evaluation for a later introduction.

As with other Lexus model lines, Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury trim levels will be offered depending on engine variant, while the flagship RX500h will debut a new F Sport Performance grade.

Pricing starts at $87,500 plus on-road costs for the entry-level RX350h Luxury 2WD, and climbs to a lofty $126,000 before on-roads for the RX500h F Sport Performance AWD. That represents a $15,000 price increase at the entry level, and almost $18,000 at the top end.

Those higher prices, however, are offset by various engineering developments as part of the shift to a new architecture, new powertrains, as well as equipment and technology enhancements across the board.
