Toyota Australia has recalled the 2020 Corolla hatch to fix a problem with the wiring harness.
According to the company, the reversing lights might stop working because a wiring loom on the back door could lose electrical contact over time.
If the reversing lights don’t work, pedestrians and road users behind the vehicle mightn’t know the driver is reversing, increasing the risk of accident or injury to both occupants and other road users.
Toyota Australia will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership.
Parts are expected to be available late in June 2020. Concerned owners can call 1800 987 366 during business hours for more information.
