    The new BMW 5 Series is a Large Luxury offered in both 4D Sedan and 5D Sedan body styles. Available in Australia from $83,600 (MLRP, excl. on-roads) for the 523i variant and topping out at $147,000 for the 540i.

    There are 4 variants of the 5 Series available in Australia.

    Engine options include 2.8L multi-point injection (142kW/280Nm), 2.5L multi-point injection (125kW/245Nm), 3.5L multi-point injection (173kW/320Nm) and 4.4L multi-point injection (210kW/420Nm). All variants feature 5-speed automatic transmission. All variants feature rear-wheel drive.

    The new 1997 5 Series is offered with a 2 year, unlimited km warranty.
