Volkswagen Australia is recalling 1228 examples of its Golf due to a manufacturing issue that may cause the radiator to move around and potentially lose engine coolant.

This recall affects Golf Mk8 models produced from 2019 to 2022.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the radiator on some vehicles may not be properly secured,” said the company in its recall notice.

“This could cause the radiator to move and may result in the loss of engine coolant. A loss of coolant will be indicated by visual and audible warnings for low coolant.”

“If the warnings are ignored by the driver, engine overheating and subsequent power loss can occur.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your preferred Volkswagen dealer to schedule an appointment to have your vehicle inspected and rectified free of charge.

If you have further questions you can contact Volkswagen Group Australia on 1800 504 076.
