Toyota’s flagship sports coupe has picked up a small but useful upgrade.

The Toyota GR Supra now has wireless Apple CarPlay as standard, accessible via a carryover 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

This complements the wireless phone charging pad already available in the Supra, while the infotainment system also has satellite navigation and DAB+ digital radio.

The updated GR Supra is available now.

It has yet to be confirmed whether any other changes are forthcoming for 2022.

“Toyota Australia has no further announcements to make on GR Supra at this stage,” said a spokesperson for Toyota Australia.

Year-to-date, Toyota has sold 139 Supras, more than double the number of the related BMW Z4 sold during the same period (68).

The Z4 comes standard with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay across its range.

The rear-wheel drive GR Supra continues to offer GT and GTS grades, both packing a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine.

An upgrade in 2020 saw power and torque figures increased. It now pumps out 285kW of power from 5800-6500rpm and 500Nm from 1800-5000rpm.

The only transmission is an eight-speed automatic.
