Porsche Cars Australia is recalling 77 examples of its 911 and 718 sports cars made in 2024 to rectify an issue with centre-lock wheel nuts which could cause a wheel to detach while driving.
The recall affects the 911 Carrera GTS, GT3, GT3 RS, S/T, Turbo and Turbo S from the 992 generation, as well as the 718 Cayman GT4 RS and 718 Spyder RS from the 982 generation.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the road wheel centre lock nuts may fracture. This could cause the wheel to loosen and detach from the vehicle whilst driving,” says the official recall notice.
“If a wheel detaches from the vehicle whilst driving, it could result in a loss of vehicle stability and control, increasing the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.”

The 911 was previously recalled in March 2025, when 11 vehicles made in 2023 were affected by a seatbelt issue.
Owners of vehicles involved in the latest recall will be contacted by Porsche and asked to arrange an appointment with their nearest authorised Porsche Centre to have the work carried out free of charge.
