A Tesla driver has lost their driver’s licence after being caught travelling 104km/h in a 50km/h zone in Sydney’s south-west.
According to a post on the NSW Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Facebook page, Liverpool City Highway Patrol officers caught the offending driver during a regular patrol.

Their driver’s licence was suspended for six months and their vehicle’s number plates seized for three months.
In addition, the driver received a $2794 infringement notice.
It doesn’t appear the driver tried to blame Tesla’s driver assistance technology for the infraction, as some have done recently.
A motorist in Melbourne blamed Autopilot for striking a pedestrian, before later admitting it was her own fault, while a California driver blamed their Model S’ Full Self-Driving system for striking a parked police car.
