There’s a new top-spec Subaru Outback in town, with the Sport Touring XTspecial edition joining the lifted wagon’s local lineup.
Priced from $57,490 before on-road costs, the Subaru Outback Sport Touring XT is $500 more than the Touring XT upon which it’s based – and only $500 less expensive than the dearest version of the model ever sold in Australia.
Pre-orders are open now ahead of deliveries beginning in September 2024.

Finished in the Sport Touring-exclusive Geyser Blue paintwork, its exterior enhancements include green accents, black boot badges, dark metallic alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler and related garnish finished in Crystal Black.
Unfortunately the image at the top of this article is the only picture Subaru has supplied, though the visual changes are limited to the outside.
It continues to be equipped with the Outback Touring’s high level of standard features, which includes a 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, electric sunroof and dual-zone climate control.

As with all other Subaru Outback XTs, the Sport Touring is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, producing up to 183kW of power and 350Nm of torque, driving all four wheels through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
It’s the second limited-run Subaru Outback to launch this year, following the addition of the Premium Edition in May, based on the entry-level model.
