Subaru celebrates 50 years with fleet of special editions

Subaru Australia is celebrating its 50th year on local soil with a range of five special edition models.

The company has released 50 Years Edition models of the Forester, Outback, and WRX sedan and Sportswagon, distinguished with cosmetic tweaks and, in some cases, extra equipment.

“This year marks 50 years since the start of a national importer and nationwide dealer network for Subaru in Australia,” said Blair Read, Subaru Australia’s managing director.

“Since those humble beginnings over one million Subarus have made their way to driveways all over the country.”

Subaru Forester 2.5i AWD 50 Years Edition

This special edition is based on the Subaru Forester 2.5i AWD, but also receives:

• Black leather accented seat trim
• Upgraded dash panel, sides of the centre console and door trims (same as the Forester 2.5i-S AWD) 
• Choice of Crystal White, Ice Silver, Horizon Blue, Magnetite Grey, Crimson Red and Crystal Black exterior finishes 
• Special 50 Years Edition badge  

This vehicle is priced at $38,890 excluding on-road costs.

Subaru Forester 2.5i-S AWD 50 Years Edition

This special edition is based on the Subaru Forester 2.5i-S AWD, but also receives:

• Dark Grey high lustre 18-inch alloy wheels 
• Black front grille 
• Crystal Black shark fin antenna, door mirror caps, side and rear garnish 
• Black roof rails 
• Black front fog light garnish 
• Black front and rear under guards 
• Black lustre rear badges 
• Special 50 Years Edition badge 

It’s available with all the standard Forester exterior finishes, with black interior trim only.

This vehicle is priced at $46,840 excluding on-road costs.

Subaru Outback AWD Touring XT 50 Years Edition

This special edition is based on the Subaru Outback XT, but adds:

• Sport model exterior styling (including fixed roof rails, green highlights and black rear badges) and dark metallic finish alloy wheels
• Crystal Black rear garnish and rear spoiler
• Special 50 Years Edition badge

It’s available only in Geyser Blue paint with a black interior.

This vehicle is priced at $56,490 excluding on-road costs.

Subaru WRX AWD 50 Years Edition

This special edition is based on the Subaru WRX AWD, with a choice of manual or automatic transmission, but also receives:

• Crystal Black door mirror caps, rear spoiler and shark fin antenna
• Black rear badging
• Ultrasuede seat trim (black and grey only)
• Power driver and front passenger seats
• 2 x rear USB-A charging ports
• Blue stitching on the seat and door trims, instrument panel, steering wheel, shifter, centre console padding and front centre armrest
• Premium leather steering wheel
• Special 50 Years Edition badge

It’s available in Ceramic White, WR Blue, Crystal Black and Solar Orange exterior finishes.

The manual vehicle is priced at $47,690 excluding on-road costs and the automatic options carries a $51,690 price tag.

Subaru WRX AWD Sportswagon 50 Years Edition

Based on the entry-level WRX AWD, the 50 Years Edition also receives:

• Crystal Black door mirror caps, rear spoiler and shark fin antenna
• Black rear badging
• Ultrasuede seat trim (black and grey only)
• Power driver and front passenger seats
• 2 x rear USB-A charging ports
• Blue stitching on the seat and door trims, instrument panel, steering wheel, shifter, centre console padding and front centre armrest
• Premium leather steering wheel
• Special 50 Years Edition badge

It’s available in either Crystal White, WR Blue or Crystal Black exterior finishes.

This vehicle is priced at $52,190 excluding on-road costs.
