Lexus RZ600e confirmed for Australia as brand’s most powerful EV

The most powerful Lexus electric vehicle (EV) ever, the Lexus RZ600e F Sport Performance, has been confirmed for Australian release in the fourth quarter of 2026, priced from $135,000 before on-road costs.

The new RZ600e F Sport Performance is the pinnacle of the Lexus RZ mid-size luxury electric SUV lineup, in which it will join the new RZ550e F Sport and upgraded RZ500e Luxury and Sports Luxury variants launched earlier this year.

Limited to a production run of 200 globally, Lexus Australia has secured just nine examples of the RZ600e, which will be available through only eight of the Japanese premium brand’s 31 dealerships nationwide.

At $135,000 plus on-roads, it commands a significant price premium over the RZ550e F Sport ($104,920 plus ORCs) on which it's based.

However, the RZ600e F Sport Performance's price tag is also nearly identical to the $133,059 (plus ORCs) price asked for the RZ450e Sports Luxury 12 months ago, before the RZ lineup was revised earlier this year, when prices were slashed by as much as $42,000.

The RZ600e packs a 313kW electric powertrain, a 13kW bump over the RZ550e, with the same 167kW/268Nm front and rear electric motors sending power through all four wheels to deliver a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.4 seconds. 

It also uses the same 77kWh lithium-ion battery as the RZ550e, with the added power and one-inch-larger 21-inch Enkei alloy wheels lowering its range to 420km WLTP – 17km less than the RZ550e.

A carbon-fibre body kit includes a unique front splitter, rear bumper diffuser, and not one but two tailgate-mounted rear spoilers, plus bonnet vents.

Carbon-fibre tuning vanes are mounted behind the wheel-arches both front and rear, and the 21-inch alloys are fitted with 255/40 front and wider 295/35 rear Yokohama Advan Sport tyres.

The RZ600e also features huge 400mm six-piston front and 371mm rear brakes with blue calipers, and sits 20mm lower with performance dampers and unique spring rates. 

Australian versions will be offered in Neutrino Grey two-tone paintwork, but can be optioned with a matte Hakugin White two-tone finish for an additional $5000.

The interior scores ‘Ultrasuede’ seat upholstery and larger seat bolsters for better lateral support, plus the same steer-by-wire yoke-style steering wheel available for the RZ550e, enabling eight ‘simulated’ gear shifts via column-mounted paddles. 

The front seats are heated and ventilated, as are the outer rear seats, while there’s a 14.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity and charging, as well as a 13-speaker Mark Levinson stereo.
