Ineos Automotive has issued its first recall of the Grenadier off-roader in Australia, to address an issue with its steering.

    “Due to a defect during assembly, incorrect fasteners may have been installed on the steering linkage joints and could become loose over time,” the company says in its recall notice.

    “If this occurs, the vehicle may experience a sudden loss of steering control whilst driving.

    “A sudden loss of steering control whilst driving, could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

    • A total of 213 vehicles are affected from 2022 to 2023

    If you own an affected Grenadier, Ineos advises you to stop driving immediately if you experience steering issues.

    Contact an Ineos agent as soon as possible to have the vehicle inspected and the correct fasteners fitted, free of charge.
