Ford F-150 recalled

Ford Australia will recall 32 examples of the F-150 full-size pickup due to a software issue that may prevent a faulty intake air temperature sensor from being detected.

“Due to a software issue the Powertrain Control Module may not provide warnings from a faulty Intake Air Temperature sensor to the On-Board Diagnostics system,” the recall notice said.

“Vehicles are not compliant to Australian Design Rule 79/00 – Emission Control for Light Vehicles.”

Owners will be contacted by Ford to arrange for the rectification work to be carried out free of charge.

This is Ford Australia's 14th recall of the F-150 in Australia, not including separate recalls of the now-discontinued F-150 Lightning, which was imported in small numbers by Queensland-based AUSEV rather than Ford Australia.

Most recently, in April 2026, 6832 F-150s produced between 2021 and 2026 were recalled by Ford Australia over an issue affecting trailer braking systems.

The latest recall comes only days after nearly 14,000 dual-cab examples of the Ford Ranger – Australia’s top-selling model for the past three years – were recalled over an issue affecting the deployment of their curtain airbags.

Concerned owners can contact an authorised Ford dealer or the Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 13 FORD (13 3673).
