The Ford Everest has gained a very green special edition for 2027, while other members of the off-road SUV range receive minor specification tweaks.

The Ford Everest large SUV is following its Ranger ute sibling in gaining a sporty Wolftrak edition, as part of a minor update for model year 2027 (MY27).

It effectively replaces the Everest Wildtrak, which is bowing out after model year 2026.5 (MY26.5), and will fly the Wolftrak flag alone in Ford’s lineup with the Ranger Wolftrak also disappearing for MY27.

Unlike the Everest Wildtrak, the Wolftrak – now available to order – is offered with both the 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engines.

The four-cylinder Wolftrak is being offered for $73,000 drive-away as part of a range of special offers on the MY27 Everest lineup; the Active 2.0L is also being offered for $60,000 drive-away, and the Sport 2.0L for $70,000 drive-away.

List prices are unchanged for MY27 apart from a $573 decrease in the flagship Platinum’s price, a result of changes to the Luxury Car Tax (LCT).

Ford seems to associate wolves with the colour green, as not only does the Everest Wolftrak have Zest Green exterior highlights and Traction Green interior accents, but Traction Green paint – previously exclusive to the Ranger Super Duty and Wolftrak – is the standard exterior finish.

Shadow Black and Command Grey finishes are no-cost options.

You can add even more green by swapping the standard black-finish 20-inch alloy wheels for 17s – with a pocket of Zest Green – wrapped in 255/70R17 all-terrain tyres. Effectively, where items were orange on the defunct Wildtrak, they're now green on the Wolftrak.

Over the Sport, the Wolftrak also gains the contents of the $2500 Premium Towing Pack as standard. This includes a tow bar with an integrated brake controller; Pro Trailer Backup Assist; blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage; and a trailer connection alarm.

That's instead of the extra kit the Wildtrak offered over the Sport, headlined by the inclusion of matrix LED headlights and a panoramic sunroof.

The Wolftrak also sticks with leather-accented upholstery, even though the Active and Sport have dropped this for MY27 in favour of leatherette trim. In five-seat Active variants, you can swap this for cloth trim at no extra cost.

There’s an easy entry/exit feature as standard on all bar the Active, which sees the driver’s seat slide forward and backwards to allow the driver to get in, while the Tremor now has embroidered (instead of embossed) naming on its front seats and the Platinum has debossed naming on its front seats.

Per the spec sheet, the Tremor is also listed as having heavy-duty composite side steps, instead of simply heavy-duty side steps.

Instead of a USB-A and a USB-C outlet in the second row, MY27 Everests now feature two USB-C ports.

Desert Island Blue also replaces Blue Lightning on the otherwise unchanged colour palette.

Mechanically, the Everest is unchanged. It already lost its 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine for MY26.5, swapping it for a less powerful single-turbo unit with 125kW of power and 405Nm of torque.

This also saw it downgraded from a full-time to a part-time four-wheel drive system. Fuel consumption was effectively unchanged at 7.1L/100km.

    The 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 was unchanged, and continues to be mated with a 10-speed auto and a full-time 4WD system.

Other MY26.5 changes included the dropping of the Ambiente and Trend in favour of a new base Active, and the standardisation of a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen across the range.
