The Tesla Model Y has received some modest tweaks for 2026, though prices are unchanged.
The base RWD and mid-spec Long Range AWD variants of the popular mid-size electric SUV – Australia’s top-selling electric vehicle (EV) – upgrade from a 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen to the 16.0-inch unit from the top-spec Performance flagship.
They also now get a black headliner, replacing the light grey colour previously fitted. It’s standard regardless of whether you select the black or white upholstery option.
Otherwise, there are no changes to the Model Y, and the Performance – which is sourced from Germany instead of China like the other variants – sticks with a light headliner.

The lineup still opens at $58,900 before on-road costs for the RWD, rising to $68,900 before on-roads for the Long Range AWD and $89,400 for the Performance.
Tesla launched the heavily updated ‘Juniper’ Model Y early in 2025, with the upgraded Performance flagship following several months later.
The updated lineup helped boost sales by 4.6 per cent last year, enough to see the Model Y remain Australia’s best-selling EV last year. A total of 22,239 were delivered last year, well above the second-place (and rival) BYD Sealion 7 at 13,410 deliveries.
Tesla didn’t just stop at the facelift, launching its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) autonomous driving system later in 2025 and then rolling out a new five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty earlier this month.
