The Cupra Formentor range is now the most expansive it's ever been in Australia, with five powertrains available, including an exclusive five-cylinder flagship.
The range is kicked off by a new-for-2026 mild-hybrid 'S' variant at the bottom of the lineup, priced at $53,990 drive-away nationally.
The V, VZe plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and VZx variants carry over, with the V's drive-away price rising by $5500 and the VZx costing $4200 more than before.
The five-cylinder VZ5 – which borrows its engine from the iconic Audi RS3 – is due to arrive in either late 2026 or early 2027. Just 4000 units will be produced globally, with fewer than 100 destined for Australia.
Outside, the Formentor features Cupra's 'shark-nose' front end and its fleet-wide triangular daytime running lights, while the redesigned rear end incorporates an illuminated Cupra logo. Most variants also sport fresh alloy wheel designs.

Inside, Cupra has fitted a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and backlit climate and volume controls, along with its 'Supersport' steering wheel with integrated start/stop and drive mode buttons as standard.
Powertrain-wise, the range-opening Formentor S features a 48V mild-hybrid system mated to a 1.5-litre engine producing 110kW of power, with drive sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to the front wheels.
The Formentor V, meanwhile, continues to use a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, albeit with an increased power output of 150kW, up from 140kW. It still utilises a seven-speed dual-clutch auto and all-wheel drive.
The largest upgrade, however, is found with the Formentor VZe PHEV. It offers Cupra's second-generation PHEV technology, giving it a maximum power output of 200kW, up from 180kW, along with DC fast-charging capability.
It now has a claimed electric-only driving range of 114km based on WLTP testing, a drastic improvement over the old VZe's 58km claim on the NEDC cycle.

The performance-oriented VZx now boasts 245kW of power, up by 17kW on its predecessor, and its all-wheel drive system features a torque-vectoring rear differential, said to make it "more agile, more intuitive and more spirited in all conditions".
At the very top of the range will sit the more exclusive Formentor VZ5, which is powered by a 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine producing 287kW.
Additionally, Cupra continues to offer its optional Extreme Package for the Formentor VZe ($6500) and VZx ($7000), previously only available on the refreshed Leon. Highlights of the Extreme Package include carbon-fibre-backed sports bucket seats, unique upholstery, Akebono or Brembo performance brakes for the VZx and VZe respectively, matrix LED headlights, and dark gloss interior accents instead of copper.
Much of this equipment is fitted to the VZ5 as standard.
