The updated BYD Atto 3 electric SUV, now called the Atto 3 Evo, will commence local deliveries in September 2026, with freshened styling inside and out plus a new single-motor rear-wheel drive powertrain and larger battery for the flagship Premium.
The range now comprises Dynamic and Premium trims, priced at $41,990 and $46,990 before on-road costs respectively, though there's still leftover stock of the pre-update Essential which is priced at $39,990 plus on-roads.
The Dynamic is mechanically unchanged from the pre-update Atto 3, with a 150kW/310Nm front-mounted electric motor, 400V electrical architecture and 60.48kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. It can be charged at up to 7kW on AC power and 110kW on DC power, and WLTP range is 420km.

The Premium, in contrast, upgrades to a 230kW/380Nm rear-mounted electric motor, 800V electrical architecture, and 74.88kWh LFP battery, which can be charged at up to 11kW on AC power and 220kW on DC power. Range is a claimed 510km on the WLTP cycle.
The exterior changes are subtle – a sharper front bumper, slimmer side skirts, new 18-inch alloy wheel designs, and revisions to the rear bumper, spoiler and tail-lights.
The interior retains its quirky design cues, from the guitar strings on the door trims to the unusual door handles and cylindrical centre air vents, but has a more subdued grey colour scheme and redesigned door panels.

The chunky console-mounted gear shifter is gone, and there’s now a slim, column-mounted gear selector behind a new steering wheel design.
This has seen the wireless phone charging pad – now with a 50W output, up from 15W – repositioned to a more prominent place on the centre console. There are still physical switches on the centre console, but they’ve been moved further back towards the centre armrest.
The 15.6-inch touchscreen runs BYD’s latest generation of infotainment, which the company says brings a cleaner interface, quicker response times, and more intuitive location of key functions, while the 5.0-inch digital instrument cluster has been replaced with a larger 8.8-inch unit.
