Interested in a Volkswagen Tiguan?

Volkswagen Australia has discontinued diesel and Adventure versions of its three-row Tiguan Allspace, and increased pricing on remaining models by up to $2200 for 2024.

The 2024 Tiguan Allspace range offers the choice of four variants including the 110TSI Life, 132TSI Life, 162TSI Elegance and the flagship 162TSI R-Line.

Set to arrive in showrooms late in 2023 or early in 2024, the updated Allspace Elegance and R-Line will gain blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic assist for the first time since being removed due to component shortages in 2022.

Volkswagen now offers a power tailgate as standard on the Elegance and R-Line. It’s a $600 option on the Life.

Pricing now starts at $45,990 before on-road costs (+$1100) for the base-model Tiguan Allspace 110TSI Life and intends to $63,090 before on-road costs (+$220) for the flagship 162TSI R-line.

Tiguan Allspace variants are $2000-2500 more expensive than equivalent models within the smaller, two-row Tiguan’s model range.

As a stretched version of a mid-sized SUV, rivals for the Tiguan Allspace include everything from three-row mid-sizers like the Mitsubishi OutlanderHonda CR-V, and Nissan X-Trail, to larger models like the Mazda CX-8Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento.

While Volkswagen has revealed its next-generation Tiguan, the Tiguan Allspace will reportedly be dropped in favour of a new version of the currently China-only Tayron.
