BMW has issued a recall for 48 examples of its X3 and X4 from model years 2019 to 2020 due to a seatbelt defect.
“The front seat belts (driver and passenger’s side) may not be screwed on to correct specification,” the company says in its recall notice.
“If the seat belts are not secured, this could increase the risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.”

BMW is contacting owners of affected vehicles.
If your X3 or X4 is affected, you can arrange an inspection and repair by calling your local BMW service centre or calling the BMW Group Customer Interaction Centre on 1800 813 299.
