The BMW 2 Series covers BMW's compact coupe and small luxury-car territory, giving the range a sportier, more youthful character than the 1 Series hatch. The rear-wheel-drive coupe remains the enthusiast highlight, with balanced proportions, strong turbocharged engines and a more traditional BMW driving feel. Depending on variant, the local range can also appeal to drivers wanting a compact premium car with more style and performance than a conventional small sedan or hatch. The 2 Series is not as practical as BMW's SUVs, but it offers something those cars cannot: a lower seating position, sharper responses and a sense of connection that suits drivers who still value a compact, driver-focused BMW.
