The Volkswagen ID.4 is a mid-sized electric SUV and a key part of Volkswagen's Australian EV rollout. It uses the brand's dedicated electric platform to offer a practical five-seat cabin, smooth performance and family-friendly range in a familiar SUV shape. The ID.4 is aimed at buyers moving from petrol SUVs into their first EV, with an emphasis on comfort, efficiency and everyday usability. It competes with models such as the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV5 and BYD Sealion 7. Its styling is deliberately restrained, and the cabin focuses on space and technology. For Volkswagen, it is the mainstream electric SUV designed to make EV ownership feel approachable.
