Wait times for new vehicles are getting shorter at Hyundai Australia, and its SUVs in particular are in strong supply.

The company says that on average, existing orders are expected to be fulfilled within three months.

Hyundai says it has strong supply of all variants of the Venue, Tucson, Palisade and petrol-powered Kona, as well as the i30 Sedan N.

As orders only recently reopened for the i20 N and i30 Hatch N, these vehicles are among those with the longest wait time for new orders at 6-9 months.

New orders for the Kona Hybrid are also looking at similar waits, as production catches up with strong demand. Hyundai expects once things “settle down”, the Hybrid will be the most popular member of the Kona family.

Supply is steady for the Staria and picking up for the Staria Load, though these vehicles are still experiencing waits of 3-6 months.

Production has ended for the current Santa Fe ahead of the new-generation model’s launch during the first half of 2024, but Hyundai promises a “steady runout of stock to be managed” over the intervening months.

The company says wait times for Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models are up to three months, but some variants can be delivered more or less immediately.

It advises customers to configure a car on the Hyundai Australia website and talk to a dealer to confirm availability, and notes stock on the ground is more abundant with the Ioniq 6.
