When Nissan's rugged new Patrol Warrior is coming to Australia

First customer deliveries of the rugged Nissan Patrol Warrior will begin in October 2023.

Premcar, the Australian firm responsible for fettling Nissan’s flagship SUV, has confirmed final testing for the locally tuned 4×4 has been completed and production vehicles are being completed at its dedicated facility in Epping, Melbourne.

“It was a proud moment watching the first Nissan Patrol Warrior by Premcar models progress along our new assembly line,” said Premcar engineering director Bernie Quinn.

“From October, Australian customers will get to enjoy this eagerly awaited new Warrior model series and we can’t wait to see them in Nissan showrooms.”

The Warrior is based on the entry-level Patrol Ti, but has been given a tough new look and various mechanical upgrades aimed at making it more off-road-capable.

Nissan has yet to announce pricing.

The main changes include the deletion of anti-roll bars, which are replaced by a HBMC (Hydraulic Body Motion Control) system that contains bespoke valves and is assembled by Premcar.

From an exterior perspective, there are black mirror caps, black grille, red bash plate, Warrior-branded front bumper. The Warrior rides on all-terrain 34.4-inch tyres wrapped around 18-inch alloy wheels protected by unique fender flares and mud flaps.

On the back of the Patrol Warrior is a new rear bumper assembly that sees the addition of a new tow bar, Warrior badging and 3.5-tonne recovery points. The Warrior’s tow bar has been specifically designed so Premcar could fit in a full-size spare and tyre.

The Warrior retains the standard Patrol’s 5.6-litre naturally aspirated V8, with 298kW of power and 560Nm of torque.
