Life is about to get easier for anyone renting a Tesla electric car in the USA.

Hertz USA customers who rent a Tesla will now be able to scan a QR code on the central screen, and gain full access to the brand’s smartphone application for the length of their loan.

It’ll also allow renters to remotely turn on the air-conditioning, track the charge status, and lock or unlock the car using their phone.

Tesla has previously spoken about plans to make life easier for rental companies, as they begin to transition towards electrified fleets.

In the USA, Hertz has announced significant partnerships with Tesla and Polestar to roll out electric cars for its customers.

It in 2021 confirmed it plans to buy 65,000 electric cars from Polestar globally by 2026 – which looks like a tame promise alongside its push to buy 100,000 electric cars from Tesla before the end of 2023.
