Skoda has recalled its Fabia due to an issue that could see the front passenger airbag deploy incorrectly.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the front passenger airbag inflator may catch on the dash panel and rupture in the event of airbag deployment,” the company says in its recall notice.

“In the event of airbag deployment in an accident, the airbag can foul on the dashboard and provide insufficient protection for the front seat passenger which could result in serious injury or death.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact an authorised Skoda dealership to have an inspection and repair carried out, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact Skoda on 1800 607 540.
