Ken Block, the famous rally driver with high profile partnerships with the likes of Ford and Audi, has been killed in a snowmobile accident aged 55.

The news was made official on his Hoonigans Instagram page, which said “It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away…”

“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband.”

Mr Block had been at his Utah ranch over Christmas, according to a Tweet from December 30.

Mr Block had an eventful life, having co-founded the DC shoes brand in 1994 and selling the company a decade later.

He won Rookie of the Year in the Rally America championship in 2005 and forged a partnership with Subaru Rally Team USA.

He also paired up with Ford and more recently Audi, and released a series of viral Gymkhana videos. More recently (May 2022) his company detailed the bonkers Porsche 911 SVRSR “Hoonipigasus”.
